From Local to Global: ADNC’s Journey in KEZAD

Abu Dhabi National Carpet Factory (ADNC), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Industrial Projects (ADNIP) is the UAE’s leading exporter of locally made carpets. Being located in KEZAD helped ADNC scale its production capacity and make giant strides into regional and international markets. Operating from an establishment that spans 89,000 square metres, ADNC expanded into several product lines and leveraged the road and port connectivity of its location to become a major exporter serving more than 27 countries.

Reflecting on their journey, ADNC recommends KEZAD as an ideal environment for businesses looking to expand in Abu Dhabi and the broader GCC region. They share the benefit of being in KEZAD’s strategic location, and emphasise on the outstanding infrastructure and logistical support to foster innovation and growth.
BUSINESS CHALLENGES

For ADNC, the ability to manufacture carpets at a large scale sustainably and transport them efficiently in the GCC and international markets meant they needed ample space for production and capacity for expansion to meet future growth plans. They were on the lookout for a base that supported sustainable manufacturing practices with easy access to raw material and labour as well as proximity and connectivity with markets. Additionally, a business environment that offered logistical support with incentives for scalability would fortify ADNC’s efforts for growth.
SOLUTION

Being in ICAD-1 industrial zone positioned the company to be in close proximity with Saudi Arabia and rest of GCC. Along with their unmatched strategic location near Khalifa Port that connects to global markets, KEZAD’s symbiotic ecosystem that enabled easy access to raw material suppliers and labour communities were crucial factors supporting ADNC’s growth and expansion into new regions. The partnership with locally established Borouge for raw material sourcing is part of this engineered collaborative and sustainable business environment at KEZAD. The Borouge hub supplies 70 percent of raw materials to ADNC for their high-quality carpets. Additionally, ADNC benefits from an uninterrupted supply of power and gas to meet their operational timelines.

KEZAD has been pivotal to our success. We have not only benefited from the location and space but also the unparalleled efficiency of a highly productive and collaborative ecosystem.

A rare combination of speed, scale, connectivity, community, cost to market and sustainable operational environment at KEZAD became the pivot for ADNC’s growth as an exporter worldwide.

From one product and three machines, ADNC produces 1,500,000 square metres of carpets monthly, tailored to meet the diverse needs of customers across industries globally. From the time the company was instituted, ADNC grew to a national industry and became a pioneer of the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ roadmap.
